Torah scholarship

Orchot Chaim recognizes the crucial need to promote the study of Torah, in particular the areas of Torah law (Choshen Mishpat) that pertain to monetary, civil and interpersonal relationships. Orchot Chaim conducts an exclusive learning program for a select group of young scholars who are studying to become experts in halacha with special emphasis on these areas.

Kehila

Torah life has always flourished within the context of a vibrant kehila headed by inspiring Rabbinic leadership. Orchot Chaim has put into place this time tested model of Jewish life in the new and flourishing Torah community Givat Zev, just a five minute drive from Jerusalem. Under the guidance and direction of Rabbi Schwartz, the community stands upon three fundamentals: love of Hashem, love of Torah and love of klall Yisrael. The Orchot Chaim Beit Medrash is not just a place to come together to pray and study Torah, it is the heart and soul of the community life

Kiruv

Rabbi Schwartz, along with additional members the Orchot Chaim staff conducts an innovative program for young men that come to Israel to serve in the Israel Defense Forces from across the world. Rabbi Schwartz has developed a remarkable rapport with these young men. He conducts weekly visits to five remote army bases where he teaches, guides, and befriends the soldiers in addition to running periodic Shabbatonim for them. Orchot Chaim pioneered, and continues to oversee the Hebrew ulpan and part time learning program run by the Israeli army for these soldiers. Orchot Chaim also sponsors innovative kiruv programs in other locations in Israel.
